Clean Delhi for Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010

The 2010 Commonwealth Games are scheduled to be held in Delhi, India between 3 October and 14 October 2010. This is the first time the Commonwealth Games will be held in India, which will be the third developing country to host the event (after Jamaica in 1966 and Malaysia in 1998). This is the second time the event has been held in Asia (after 1998).

India has declared itself committed to preventing environmental degradation due to the Games, and has declared the 2010 Games to be the "Green Games". To plan for this goal, India has taken the commitment to the international level by partnering with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). In order for the games to be awarded the title of "Green Games," UNEP must approve of the process and ensure that the games are environmentally sustainable.
To meet this goal, Delhi government is doing it best but we all need to take initiative and represent our country and city to rest of the world as best place to live in. For this we all need to come together and look for areas of improvement and take improvement initiative.

For one such very important issue of cleaning Delhi we have taken the initiative and launch a website www.cdb2010.com (Clean Delhi before 2010). Our mission is to find out different spot where you find unnecessary garbage and the waste around your locality which needs to be remove. For this we need volunteers from Delhi to participate, kindly check this site and submit your nomination at contact@cdb2010.com if you really interested in making this a success. We all need to contribute to this campaign and make it a more better and clean place to live.
